In this game, the player has more freedom, as well as more characters to talk to. Players must win their races, keep their cars on the road and muster all their adventure racing skills to find and collect the elusive Golden Bricks. I'm not a big fan of the city layout, as it's harder to free play / make up stories like the kids want to do.LEGO Racers, start your engines! Rocket Racer is back and he's teamed up with the toughest competitors in the galaxy to bring racers of all ages this awesome challenge. With the PS+ offering of DC Villains, we're just starting that. By that point, we were also watching the Marvel movies, so the kids were super stoked when I unlocked a new character for them. The camera was stable, and we were back to the big and open city. Marvel Avengers was a lot better, as my kids were a bit older and better at the game. I didn't like the city layout, but again, the kids made up their own stories. The second game, my son was a bit better at helping out, but the rotating camera was a massive pain in the ass. They'd just drive around, making up their own stories, driving buses to schools, whatever. The kids were a bit too young at that point to be of much help when doing the missions, so I just blasted through the missions in order to get them to free play the city. I got the 3-pack of Marvel games, with the DLC, a year or so ago to play with the kids. Why not put the camera behind so you can see ahead of you! I'm hoping the new star wars lego game will have found some streamlined happy medium between still being fun and simple while being a bit more updated in gameplay.Īlso, eff that ep 6 (edit: 3) lava level where you have to platform over the lava pits running TOWARDS the camera. It's not rocket science but it adds much more frustration to me playing with my son when both he and I are like "ok wtf do we need to do." Turns out you need to break it down (didn't know I could do that for awhile) and build something else (by pushing another direction while the blocks build). So you may build something but it doesn't work. And the thing I hate most is the piles of blocks can be used to build three things. So much on screen that not "lego" that I'm visually overwhelmed and don't know where to go. The new ones are so graphically confusing and complicated (my example is Force Awakens compared to the old ep 1-6 games). The old ones are, like you said, so simple. I love the older ones but cannot get into the new ones. Hope you can find someone would like to try this out! So if you have a child, a SO, a relative, or just a friend that isn’t used to games, I’d really recomend starting them out with these, preferably on co-op of course. The gameplay is really simple, but it’s justly the basics of most games out there: move, jump, hit, interact and some easy puzzles, and now that she is used to this, I bet she could start playing some more complicated games with few difficulties. And we not only realised that it really was a very fun game, we realised how great of an introduction it was for her. I don’t remember exactly what was the first game I played, but the first ones I do remember were lego games (most especifically, lego batman and indiana jones) and boy, I couldn’t have started with better.įor the longest time I thought that I only liked it because I was just a kid, but then I decided to buy them on pc, and invited a friend of mine (which usually just watches other people play) to play it co-op with me. When I was a little kid, my parents got me a ps2 as a gift.
